My letter to you
Hi there, I’m Jessica and I’m thrilled that you’re here today. I’ve been working in the financial sector for most of my career. In recent years, I have been focused on promoting responsible investment and green finance with institutional investors, governments and companies. And it has been an incredibly rewarding journey!
But, quite frankly, I’m frustrated about the way financial services are structured for regular investors like you and me – especially around the impact of our investments on the planet and in the communities in which we live.
As a mother, I’m hugely regretful about the damaged world we are passing on to our children. When we’re working so hard to secure their financial future, shouldn’t we also be ensuring that future generations inherit a clean, peaceful and balanced world?
And I know I’m not the only one thinking this way. Over 90% of women investors say that creating an impact is important to them, but only 33% feel understood by their advisor.** (No surprises there!)
Why? Because if you ask your financial advisor about investing responsibly today, you’ll probably hear…
- “Are you sure? Your returns will be much lower with this product.”
- “Sorry, we don’t have any products that fit your criteria right now.”
- “The smart investor nowadays will be sure to amortize off-balance-sheet derivatives.” (Wondering what the hell that means? So is everyone else. Investing can be an alienating experience, especially when you have to weed through jargon written in a way that assumes that a man is making all the decisions.)
And that’s just because the incentives are so misaligned that your financial advisor is often not even aware of what it means to invest responsibly!
That’s why I have created Moxie Future: to provide you with the resources and network to understand the issues and find investment options that align with your values. We are all about harnessing the power of wealth-creating women to champion a new way of investing that doesn’t compromise on values.
Because I know that when women work together, we are unstoppable.
I hope you’ll become part of the Moxie Future community and join us for the ride!
