Capital Catalysts: Investing in Africa’s sustainable growth
I’ve had the privilege of working on some fantastic projects this year, but one of the absolute highlights has been partnering with Mahdiah El-Jed and Sehrish Gallagher to explore how we can truly scale sustainable investing across Africa. The new report – Capital Catalysts: Investing in Africa’s Sustainable Growth – is hot off the press and was launched yesterday at the Dubai Sustainable Finance Working Group annual forum, accompanied by a lively, high-energy discussion with a panel of experts who genuinely know their craft. We were all aligned on one key point: the UAE is already playing a pivotal role in scaling sustainable finance across Africa – and 2026 offers a major opportunity to elevate that leadership even further. Achieving this will require tackling perceived (and often misplaced) risks, aggregating both capital and expertise, and clearly demonstrating the significant value unlocked when investment is directed toward sustainable development outcomes.
