Kicking Off TeraVert in Senegal
I type this on the last day of my trip to beautiful Senegal where we properly kicked off TeraVert – an exciting new platform with a laser-sharp focus on accelerating sustainable finance across West Africa. This week has been an amazing adventure – we have met with people from the government, financial institutions, the university and beyond.
The good news is we all want the same thing. To bring the right finance to the right people to drive the right sustainable development – and at speed.
But my trip has also been a harsh reminder of the huge inequalities in our world and how far, incredibly far, we have yet to travel. Especially when it comes to financing. As a team, we are looking at debt-for-climate swaps, natural capital financing structures, sustainability bonds (of course) – what else should we be thinking about?
